Jared McCann, C/LW, Pittsburgh Penguins (31%) - McCann doesn’t seem to be a sexy waiver add, but at a more in-depth glance of his last ten games it makes total sense. He is available at center and left wing. He has five goals and one assist over those ten games. McCann has hovered around 16:00 minutes-per-game. The only drawback is his plus/minus rating is zero over that span.
Week 17 Schedule: vs. PHI and @WAS
Dominik Kubalik, LW/RW, Chicago Blackheads (56%} - The rookie winger has been pure fire through the month of a January. Tallying ten goals, four assists and a plus eight rating so far in 2020. Kubalik currently leads all rookies in scoring with a whopping 21 goals and 11 assists. This could possibly be the NHL ROTY.
Week 17 Schedule: @ARI
Sam Reinhardt, C/RW, Buffalo Sabres (55%) - Reinhardt is another player that has been hot since the calendar hit January. Over his last eight games, Reinhardt has five goals, six assists and four power play points. The center and right wing eligible Reinhardt is averaging over 20:00 minutes-per-game, winning face offs and blocking shots. Playing this well usually leads to success.
Week 17 Schedule: vs. OTT, vs. MON and vs. CBJ.
Rasmus Sandin, D, Toronto Maple Leafs (20%) - This may be the rookie “shot in the dark” add of the season. Sandin only has two assists in his four games since being called up. The premise of Sandin being a payoff addition is based on his ice time and power play time. He has averaged 16:00 in his four games played with time on the Leafs' power play. Sandin has skill, but is he ready for the spotlight? It’s better to be early than to be late!
Week 17 Schedule: @NSH, @DAL and vs. OTT
Adam Fox, D, New York Rangers (39%) - Fox has played well in January on both ends of the ice. Through the month of January, Fox has one goal, seven assist, +6 rating and four power play points. The Rangers have struggled this season but Fox has made the most of his opportunities. The young defenseman has logged a respectable 18:00 minute average of ice time.
Week 17 Schedule: vs. DET and @DET.
Brian Elliott, G, Philadelphia Flyers (17%) - Elliott isn’t a long term option for your goalie situation. However, since Carter Hart’s injury, Elliott is 3-0 with 73 saves and a shutout against the Penguins. Hart appears to be returning in a week or two, so grab Elliott now while he is heated up and before he gets relegated back to the bench. If you have Carter Hart, Elliott is a must for now and maybe beyond.
Week 17 Schedule: @PIT and vs. COL
