It was another fantastic week for the Streamable Defenses of the Week in Week 7 as each of our three suggestions ended the week with double digit fantasy points! Overall, each of our three suggestions are now within the top 11 of all D/ST as our top suggestion and less than ten-percent owned suggestion have entered the top ten. The past three weeks have been game changers for this series. Let’s hope Week 8 offers similar results!
I’m one to never invest a high draft stock into team defenses. I play the waiver wire every single week to find my D/ST for the upcoming week. Due to this, I find myself never drafting a defense and waiting for just before the start of Week 1 to grab my first defense of the season. This is where this series comes into play. Every week I will be suggesting my favorite three team defenses that are regularly available on waiver wires across most formats. I will also keep a running total of how my selections measure up across the season below.
The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to as many fantasy players as possible. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.
The Cincinnati Bengals were our top suggestion in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. They recorded 15 fantasy points while allowing 14 points and recording four sacks and two interceptions. The Indianapolis Colts were our middle suggestion. They ended the week against the Miami Dolphins with ten fantasy points on the back of allowing just ten points, recording two sacks and recovering two fumbles. The Los Angeles Rams were our less than ten-percent owned suggestion and ended the week with the most fantasy points of our suggestions with 17 points. They allowed 15 points while recording two sacks, three interceptions, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

Week 8 Suggestions
Los Angeles Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints (Owned in 42% of Yahoo and 30.8% of ESPN Leagues)
Over the past two weeks with Spencer Rattler at the helm of the New Orleans Saints, they have allowed 20 fantasy points to the Denver Broncos in Week 7 and 17 fantasy points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. On the season, the Saints have allowed the ninth most fantasy points to opposing defenses. This Chargers’ defense has lowkey been really good this entire season. They’ve allowed at most 20 points through six games. They have also recorded an interception in each of those six games as well. This is a super flashy defense but the combination of being really consistent and the fact that the Saints offense is bad right now is the perfect storm.
Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans (Owned in 21% of Yahoo and 54.3% of ESPN Leagues)
As the saying goes, rules are meant to be broken. Although the Lions are owned in just 21-percent of Yahoo leagues, they are owned in 54.2-percent of ESPN leagues. In my eyes (as I’m the one who makes the rules) the Yahoo ownership offsets the ESPN ownership and therefore, the Lions qualify for this series. With that being said, the Lions get the Titans this week who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing defenses on the season. Anytime we can play a defense playing the team that has allowed the single most fantasy points, I’m going to do it. Although this Lions’ secondary isn’t good and they lost their star pass rusher in Aidan Hutchinson, they are a halfway decent unit. I guess I don’t need to convince myself that this Detroit defense is good, the matchup is simply too good to pass on.
Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins (Owned in 1% of Yahoo and 0.7% of ESPN Leagues)
On paper, this is a good matchup. The Dolphins have allowed the third most fantasy points to opposing defenses on the season. However, Tua Tagovailoa could return to action this week which gives this Miami offense a much needed boost. This Cardinals’ defense is also super spotty. They had quality performances against the Chargers last week and the 49ers in Week 5, but were torched by the Packers and Commanders as well. Either way, I’m banking on Tua not being up to speed if he is to return this week and if he isn’t to go, this play will go back to being great.
