We finally hit a homerun in our streamable defenses of the week with the Cleveland Browns hosting the Washington Football Team. Beyond that, our picks were mediocre at best. Each Tuesday, this series will go live on weknowfantasy.com. The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

Our top streaming defense of the week, the Los Angeles Chargers, were expected to do much better than they did. The Carolina Panthers have one of the league’s worst offenses, especially without Christian McCaffrey. Losing to the Panthers for one of the league’s most talented defenses wasn’t on their agenda. The Browns did show up though, taking advantage of Dwayne Haskins and company. The Browns recorded five turnovers (three interceptions and two fumbles) and sacked Haskins three times. Also, let’s not talk about the Thursday Night Football murder that the Jaguars went through

Week 3 Results

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Carolina Panthers - 4 points

Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Football Team - 14 points

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins - 0 points

Week 4 Suggestions

Denver Broncos at New York Jets - Owned in 38% of Yahoo and 38.7% of ESPN leagues

Any team that qualifies for this series and gets the New York Jets is a must start. The Jets have allowed the Bills’ defense to post eight points in Week 1, five points to the 49ers in Week 2 and 26 points to the Colts in Week 3. This is a trend I’d like to follow. Denver hasn’t posted a ton of fantasy points in terms of defense and special teams, but again, it’s the Jets. This Jets’ offense has yet to score more than 17 points and were held to just seven last week. This game is going to be closer than most may think, with the likes of Brett Rypien starting for the Broncos. I don’t expect a ton of points out of the limited Broncos, but trust Sam Darnold and company to turn the ball over.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers - Owned in 43% of Yahoo and 37.4% of ESPN leagues

In my introduction I stated that defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. I’ll call this Cardinals’ Yahoo ownership close enough as it ducks below 40-percent in ESPN leagues. Arizona has not posted big defensive numbers due to the lack of takeaways. They do get to the quarterback often, as they have 11 sacks over the first three weeks. Teddy Bridgewater has been sacked eight times thus far and is just a week removed from a two interception game. Arizona is also quality against the run, where the Panthers’ offense leans towards. Mike Davis had 99 yards on 21 attempts last week his first game without Christian McCaffrey. Look for Arizona to slow the run and make Bridgewater beat them through the air.

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos - Owned in 6% of Yahoo and 2.3% of ESPN leagues

Let’s flip the script of this Thursday Night Football game here. We already have the Broncos’ defense, so now let's take the Jets’ defense. Like I previously stated, undrafted free agent Brett Rypien will be getting his first career start on Thursday night. He’s doing so without the likes of Courtland Sutton and Phillip Lindsay, operating behind a suspect offensive line. The Boise State product will surely make some mistakes and I don’t see the Broncos’ putting up a ton of points with him under center. This all equates to a good outing for the Jets’ defense.

Week 1 Results

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears - 1 Point

Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos - 3 Points

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts - 6 Points

Week 2 Results

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns - -2 Points

Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots - 3 Points

Arizona Cardinals vs. Washington Football Team - 9 Points
